Millions of people around the world, especially youth, are fighting to prevent and adapt to climate change: pushing to end fossil fuel extraction and use, and for clean energy jobs, conservation of natural habitats, indigenous fire management, resilience hubs, affordable housing, and racial justice, among other solutions. However, we can sometimes feel paralyzed by climate fear, anger, and grief. It requires intention to imagine a future where all people and ecosystems can survive and thrive, to create the future we want to live in.

With this in mind, the California Coastal Commission challenges you to answer the question:

WHAT IS YOUR VISION FOR A THRIVING FUTURE?

Enter your video anytime between OCTOBER 1, 2022 and MAY 31, 2023, 5:00pm.

“If it’s easier to imagine the end of the world than it is to visualize the transformation of existing economic, cultural and political structures to combat climate change, then doomsday may become a self-fulfilling prophecy.” – Sarah Jaquette Ray in A Field Guide to Climate Anxiety: How to Keep Your Cool on a Warming Planet
