What is the Coastal Rail Trail Project?
The Coastal Rail Trail (CRT) is a regional project that will establish a multi-use trail to better connect the coastal cities of Oceanside, Del Mar, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach and San Diego. Each city is responsible for constructing the segment of the CRT that falls within their jurisdiction.
The City of San Diego Coastal Rail Trail Project consists of 10 miles of multi-use trails spanning from Carmel Valley Road on the north to Gilman Drive on the south. This segment of the trail will provide important connections between regional employment centers in Sorrento Valley, UCSD, and University City, residential communities to the north and south, and COASTER stations and future Trolley in the project area.
We want your input!
Over the past several months, the City has worked with the Coastal Rail Trail Project Working Group and the public to seek input on evaluation criteria and route segments for the Coastal Rail Trail project. This input, combined with a top-level technical analysis, resulted in the development of a number of potential alternatives for consideration. Please join us to learn more about the project and share your comments on the alternatives. Input received from the public and the Project Working Group will be considered along with the results of the technical analysis to determine the alternatives that will move forward into the CEQA/NEPA environmental review process.
The workshop will be an open house format where participants will be able to review project information, ask questions, and provide input on the alternative alignments.
