San Diego Canyonlands has been hard at work with other community groups (such as the Friends of Rose Creek) to get more of San Diego’s canyons and creeks into Dedicated Parkland.
Dedicated lands are preserved as natural open space or developed for active, outdoor recreation.
Currently about 40-50% of lower Rose Creek from the Southern End of Marian Bear Park to Mission Bay Park are being proposed to be designated as parkland.  This is a huge, huge deal for use.

On June 16, an information-only presentation before the public vetting process begin will take place at the San Diego Park & Rec Board Meeting on June 16 @ 2 PM. Meeting location is the Rancho Santa Fe Room at Balboa Park.
