Come learn about, explore and protect Mission Bay’s wetlands!
Join the UC Natural Reserve System and the San Diego Audubon Society for Love Your Wetlands Day at the Kendall Frost Marsh!
This is a once-a-year opportunity to explore the normally off-limits Kendall-Frost Marsh Reserve in Mission Bay, while also learning about the importance of coastal wetlands, the threats that they are facing, and how local communities are working to restore and protect them.
Activities are family friendly and include guided walking tours, live animal presentations, booths from environmental organizations, habitat restoration and more.

The event will run from 10 am – 4 pm, with the schedule of events as follows:
10:00 am – 3:45 pm Children’s area
10:00 am – 3:45 pm Bird watching
10:00 am – 11:15 am Kayak Clean up, sponsored by Aqua Adventures
10:00 am – 11:45 am Eastern marsh walk and raft repair (12 years+)
10:15 am – 11:00 am Fish seining at Crown Point
10:15 am – 10:45 am Eastern marsh walk and trash pickup (6 years +)
10:15 am – 11:30 am Native planting
10:45 am – 11:30 am Fish seining at Crown Point
11:00 – 11:30 Live music by Montgomery High School’s Mariachi Band
11:30 am-12:15 pm Welcome by Mayor Gloria, Supervisor Fletcher
12:15 pm – 1:30 pm Live animal presentations by the Living Coast Discovery Center and Zovargo
12:30 pm – 2:30 pm Kayak Clean up, sponsored by Aqua Adventures
12:30 – 2:00 pm Western marsh walk and raft repair (12 years +)
1:00 pm – 1:45 pm Eastern marsh walk (6 years +)
1:15 pm – 2:00 pm Fish seining at Crown Point
2:00 – 3:15 pm Eastern marsh walk and raft repair (12 years +)
2:30 pm – 3:00 pm Fish seining at Crown Point

Esta es una oportunidad una vez al año para explorar la Normalmente fuera de los límites de la Reserva Kendall-Frost Marsh en Mission Bay, al tiempo que aprende sobre la importancia de los humedales costeros, las amenazas que enfrentan y cómo las comunidades locales están trabajando para restaurarlos y protegerlos.
