September Guided Bird Walk (FREE)
September 20, 2025 - 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
San Diego
Join us for a collaboration between the San Diego Bird Alliance and the Friends of Rose Creek as we explore the birds of the Rose Creek Salt Marsh and upstream habitat.
Stay for as long or as short as you wish. We usually have the best bird sightings around sunset!
The shorebirds are back! Low tide will be at 3:08 PM PDT and is a 1.08 ft tide. Sunset is at 6:47 PM. We should be able to spot some of them hard at work off the Mike Gotch Bridge.
Nick & Kelcy will be our guides this month.
ROSE CREEK is a birding hot spot in the north east corner of Mission Bay. Check out the latest sightings on eBird. A treasure in Pacific Beach, the creek and salt marsh is popular with Bikers on the East side, a quiet, shaded walking path on the West side.
Meet at the east end of the Mike Gotch Bridge. Parking is legal on either side of approximately 2600-2622 N Mission Bay Drive in the northeast corner of Mission Bay. Address not exact. Drive as far west as you can on North Mission Bay Drive and park.
Join us for Nick’s debut as our guide this month. Thank you Nick for stepping up for the summer months! (Don’t worry, Kyle will be back in early fall).
Bring binoculars if you have them, good walking shoes and check the weather before you come. Our guide will have a scope to help us see the birds closeup and personal and we will have some extra pairs of binoculars to share thanks to the San Diego Bird Alliance. Rain cancels.
If you can can, download Kyle’s bird list ahead of time and see how many birds on the list you spot.
