of Rose Creek

Wetlands Supporters needed before and/or on May 14th.

On Tuesday, May 14 at 2 PM join the ReWild Mission Bay Coalition before the City of San Diego Council Meeting that will be approving and/or modifying the City’s De Anza Natural Plan for the mouth of Rose Creek.

Join us early at 1 PM for a pre-meeting rally outside the City Administration Building. Grab a ReWild Mission Bay shirt, collect talking points, and let’s rally for ReWild! Full instructions on how the meeting will work, what to say, and how to say it will be provided. Together, we can create a a place for future generations to explore the natural world.

Rose Creek needs you to speak up now!

Tell our elected officials to support the “Wetlands Optimized Plan!”

Tell San Diego’s City Council that we want maximum wetlands restoration at the mouth of Rose Creek. After all, even with the most wetlands in the plan provided by the ReWild Mission Bay Coalition’s “Wildest” plan, less than 1/3 of the Historic Rose Creek Wetlands would be restored and only a small fraction of the original 4,000 + acres of wetlands that once lived on what is now called “Mission Bay” would be restored.

Wetlands:

  • Serve as a vital habitat for diverse wildlife
  • Improve water quality
  • Sequester carbon, aligning with the Climate Action Plan
  • Offer flood protection to two public schools and military housing
  • Create new recreational opportunities in the park for all
Personal stories have a profound impact on decision-makers.

How to share your opinion!

There are multiple ways you are able to speak up for nature.

Do one or do them all!

All are critical, but they are presented in order of super duper valuable to very valuable. For details on Tuesday’s meeting, click here, then Search for “Item 332” on the Agenda. Click on the “De Anza” item to display the City’s attachments on the right hand side of the page.
