Rose Creek BioBlitz

What is a BioBlitz?

A bioblitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area over a short period of time

iNaturalist Project

Join us for our first ever BioBlitz at the location in upstream Rose Creek. Please wear require hiking boots, long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt. We will be going into the stretch of Rose Creek at the northern end of the Rose Creek Bike Path.

There is not really much of a trail here and we will be bushwhacking. We may encounter unhoused individuals in this area. We will ask that we stay in a group once we enter the creek.

There is also a paved path south along the bike path. This area is free for people to wander on their own if they don’t want to bushwhack. More details TBD.

Meet us on the trestle bridge spanning Rose Creek where it crosses under Santa Fe Street.

Bring a camera with location services enabled or your app enabled device. If you can, please download iNaturalist on your app enabled device ahead of time. Visit iNaturalist.org for instructions.

Then join the City Nature Challenge 2026: San Diego County Project.
