Native Plant Garden Work Party & Biodiversity Science Project
September 13, 2025 - 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Pacific Beach CA 92109
Join us for the Rose Creek Native Plant on the second Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. We will start by watering the native plant garden.
Then bring your smartphones and we’ll work on finding 30 species for California Biodiversity Week.
Please bring your own drinking water and snacks. Wear closed-toe shoes with excellent tread as we often work on slippery slopes. Wear long pants and sleeves. A hat can be nice on warm days.
Please bring a few gallons of tap water in containers you will take home with you! We will use the water to help the newly planted natives survive until their roots are deep enough to survive on their own.
Meet behind the Rose Creek Cottage 2525 Garnet Ave in Pacific Beach. Park on Fogg Street just South of Garnet if the Rose Creek Cottage is hosting an event. Or take public transit. Catch bus # 8 from the Old Town or Balboa Avenue Trolley Stations or anywhere west of Lamont on Grand Avenue in PB or along Mission Blvd. in Mission Beach. Exit at the Rose Creek Cottage at the foot of Soledad Mountain Road. (Bus #8 goes back and forth between the two trolley stations).
All volunteers under the age of 13 must have a parent or guardian with them.
Please wear sunscreen, closed-toe shoes, and a hat. Volunteers should bring water. More information Karin 858-405-7503 or via email.
Please check the calendar a day before the event to insure that it is still happening. Get out and spend some time with your creek!
