Sanctuary on the Pacific Flyway: How Mission Bay and Rose Creek Keep Ancient Migrations Alive
Each year, at least a billion birds migrate along the Pacific Flyway, a critical route that supports a diverse range of species. Unfortunately, these migratory populations have significantly dwindled compared to a century ago, with threats such as habitat loss, water scarcity, decreasing food sources, and climate change exacerbating this decline.
The Friends of Rose Creek and the San Diego Bird Alliance are hosting a talk focused on the crucial role of Mission Bay and Rose Creek in supporting this migratory birds.
This educational presentation by Savannah Stallings of the San Diego Bird Alliance will explore how human activities, both local and global, are affecting bird populations, and what can be done to mitigate these impacts and preserver vital habitats for future generations of birds and the people who love them.
