Guided Bird Walk along Rose Creek

May 28, 2022 - 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM

Pacific Beach

ROSE CREEK is a treasure in Pacific Beach, popular with Bikers on the East side, a quiet, shaded walking path on the West side. Once a month, on Saturday, Friends of Rose Creek lead a Guided Bird Walk along the Mud Flats, winding Estuary and into the Riparian area full of trees and song birds. Recently we’ve seen baby ducks, seagulls and Ospreys chicks. More unusual sightings; Northern Shoveler, Red Knot, and Black-headed Grosbeak. Join Kyle and Laurie at Mission Bay High School. FACULTY PARKING Lot along Rose Creek, off Grand Ave.

At Rose Creek any day is good for treats and surprises. Sunset will be 7:50 p.m..

Download Kyle’s bird list ahead of time and bring it with you to see how many of these species you can spot.  The famous Kyle will be leading our walk and helping to identify all those songbirds that flit about so fast we never see them!

See map below with the location of where to park. As a reminder, Mission Bay High has multiple parking lots. DO NOT TURN ONTO LEE STREET. If you’re heading westbound on Grand Avenue, make a U-Turn at Lee Street and turn right into the parking lot past (east of) the neon sign.
