In order for the Balboa Avenue Station Area Specific Plan to proceed for Coastal Commission approval, the San Diego City Council will have a “second reading” on the BASASP. Please plan on attending this meeting and thanking Council President Gomez, Council President Pro Tem Bry, and Councilmembers Montgomery and Sherman, for their support of Rose Creek park dedication and habitat restoration.
The Friends of Rose Creek was extremely disappointed in Councilmember Campbell’s lack of action on Rose Creek park dedication. Despite running on a platform of neighborhood’s first, she did not give east Pacific Beach any benefits for absorbing an additional 7,000 residents, increased traffic, degraded air quality, or increased noise pollution including but not limited to Rose Creek park dedication.
Please plan on attending the meeting and making your voices heard. While we may have lost the battle, the energy we galvanized will help us achieve the goal first identified by the Pacific Beach Community 25 years ago in the standing Community Plan.
