115 volunteers turned out for Coastal Cleanup Day at Rose Creek.  A huge shout out to Mission Bay High School for turning out so many students and Teledyne Technologies for the huge amount of volunteers in their matching blue shirts. The University of San Diego took over the mess up by the In ‘N Out Burger and did an amazing job.  Campland-On-The-Bay provided ice cream for hungry volunteers. Plus a special thanks to Violet and her big brother for pulling the raffle tickets and calling out the numbers.

The day went like clockwork and the dumpster was filled.  Enjoy these great photos of volunteers in action!

San Diego Coastal Cleanup day had over 6,400 volunteers on Coastal Cleanup Day in San Diego throughout that morning! We had over 20 sites with service projects like invasive removal, planting and painting. Totals from our dumpsters are still coming, but we have estimated over 120,000 lbs. of trash will have been collected. Over 5,000 lbs. of recyclables have been collected, including our hazardous waste items. As we have more official numbers, we will update you!

A few of the weirdest items found: an elephant shrine, an RV door found in Rose Creek, a box of bananas, a potato launcher, and a purse filled with beer. The list could go on!
