The Friends of Rose Creek are part of a public working group that is helping to plan a segment of the Coastal Rail Trail – which eventually will allow bicyclists to ride from Oceanside to downtown San Diego and beyond.  We’ve been meeting for the last few months and looking at alternative alignments to connect the north end of the Rose Canyon Bike Path (@ Gilman Dr/I-5) to Torrey Pines State Beach /South Del Mar (adjacent to intersection of Carmel Valley Road/North Torrey Pines Road).  This route connects to Pacific Beach via Santa Fe Street (the frontage road along I-5) as the many of you who ride north well know.

We would like you to invite everyone you know who rides bikes in this area, include UTC Mall, UCSD, Sorrento Valley Coaster Station, and other destinations north and south of the North University City Area to get involved.  This will be your bike path.

The first Public Workshop for the Coastal Rail Trail has been scheduled for May 29, 2013 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The workshop will be held at the Nobel Recreation Center (8810 Judicial Drive @ Nobel Street, San Diego, 92121).
The workshop will be in an open house format with two time-certain presentation at 5:45 and 6:30 pm.
In between presentations, participants will be given the opportunity to visit workshop stations, ask questions, and provide input on the alternatives that should be evaluated.  For more information, visit the City of San Diego’s Coastal Rail Trail Project webpage for more detailed information.
